Dual 400 MHz UltraSPARCTM II Simple Type: CPU Board Themis' USP-2 is the highest performance dual-processor SPARC-based VME engine available.The 400 MHz (17.2 SPECint95/ 22.3 SPECfp95 estimated) UltraSPARC II processor offers proven performance for a wide variety of applications including telecommunications, Federal systems and traditional VME embedded processing. The USP-2 is a multi-slot VME module that implements a dual MP Ultra-2 architecture. Its pluggable UltraSPARC II UPA processor module from Sun Microelectronics enables performance upgrades and simplifies maintenance. The USP-2 supports both single and dual processor versions, and a single processor board can be upgraded to a dual processor system. The USP-2 is functionnaly equivalent to Sun Microsystems' Dual MP Ultra-2 Model 2300 Workstation. The USP-2 consists of a System Board and an I/O Board. The I/O subsystem provides a full compliment of workstation I/O functions, including a keyboard/mouse serial port, two multiprotocol serial ports, two fast Ethernet ports, two Fast/Wide SCSI 2 ports, a parallel port or floppy port, and a CD quality audio port. The I/O Board also provides a VME64 interface to the backplane via the Themis VSIC Module either one UPA64S graphics expension slot for Creator Graphics card and one SBus slot or two SBus expansion slots.
