SPARC-based COTS Server for Military Environments Simple Type: System Themis Computer's INTREPID rugged servers are designed to meet MIL-STD-810E, MIL-STD-901D, and MIL-STD-167/1 shock and vibration specifications for severe environments. Designed for military applications on shipborne, airborne, or land mobile environments, INTREPID offers extremely scalable COTS VME engines using SPARC-based single board computers. For high-end applications, INTREPID comes with one or two quad-processor SPARC 20MP engines providing up to 8 hyperSPARC processors. The SM for Solaris backplane driver provides a closely coupled interface between the two engines. Complex database and real-time data collection processes can run simultaneously in an integrated heterogeneous environment.

SPARCstation 5-compatible VME64 Engine for High Availability Applications Simple Type: CPU Board The SPARC 5/64-2S2E combines the high performance microSPARC II processor, a high-speed VME64 interface, and dual Ethernet/SCSI-2 interfaces. With double the bus bandwidth of VME32 platforms, the SPARC 5/64's 64-bit wide data path provides a significant increase in I/O performance. Full VME64 compatibility is provided by Newbridge Microsystems's Single Chip VMEbus (SCV64) controller which helps the SPARC 5/64 achieve VME data rates up to 40 Mbytes/sec.
