SECURAPLANE ST-300 Fire Detection and Suppression System - Suppression Control Unit(SCU), Central Control Unit(CCU), Control Display Unit(CDU), Smoke Detection Units(SDU), battery level and RF test every 30 seconds, Lithium Thionyl:Chloride — primary battery Simple Type: System Smoke is detected by photo electric smoke sensors (set at 2% obscuration) located in the cargo compartments. When smoke is detected, the smoke detectors send an RF spread spectrum transmission to the Central Control Unit (CCU) which in turn illuminates the fire warning lights, places a message in the alphanumeric display on the Control Display Unit (CDU), turns on the cockpit fire bell, and illuminates the FIRE warning light on the pilots and copilots master warning panel. In normal operation it requires 2 smoke sensors to detect smoke in either cargo compartment, or one detector to detect smoke if its temperature is above 150°F, to cause a fire alarm. Fire suppression system activation is initiated by the Pilot(s) via the Control Display Unit (CDU). The commands are routed to the Central Control Unit (CCU) on a dual RS 422 data bus. The Suppression Control Unit (SCU) receives RF commands to release Halon from the CCU, over a RF spread spectrum data link. Conversely, the SCU transmits status of Halon content and deployment to the CCU via a spread spectrum RF link. Download the datasheet (PDF)
