VPMADT032 DIGIUM Digium DSP-Echo Cancellation-designed to handle up to 128ms of echo cancellation, 32 channels Simple Type: Telephony For Asterisk users who connect to the PSTN, the most common type of echo is hybrid echo - the echo introduced by the impedance mismatch between 2-wire and 4-wire telephone circuits. The echo manifests as a distorted and delayed reflection of the users voice while in conversation with an external party through the PSTN. Asterisk itself offers a range of software-based open source echo cancellation routines that are moderately effective in eliminating the hybrid mismatch echo that most Asterisk users experience. Digium is pleased to make available the VPMADT032 echo cancellation module. This module, which offers 128ms (1024 taps) of echo cancellation across all of its channels, improves upon the older VPM100M echo cancellation module, that only offered 32ms of echo cancellation. The VPMADT032 provides the same toll-quality G.168 compliant echo cancellation found in Digium's HPEC software-based commercial echo canceller. The VPMADT032 is immune from any system CPU spikes that might otherwise affect software-based solution. Download the datasheet (PDF) Request Quote
VPMOCT128 DIGIUM digium VPMOCT128 Echo Cancellation digital processor-G.168 algorithm,128ms (1024 taps) Module with 128 channels Simple Type: Telephony Echo is most common when you are utilizing a VoIP system because a VoIP system often introduces laterncy, which analog systems do not have, and frequency attempts conversion between a 2-wire and 4-wire system. Even thoguh echo may be present, you never have to experience it when making a call. Digium’s telephony card offerings have the ability to use DSP-based echo cancellation modules. DSP-based echo cancellation can be more successful than software-based echo cancellation because it removes the burden of echo cancellation from the PC.Digium’s echo cancellation modules are recommended when handling large call volumes or a high number of channels that would otherwise stress the CPU and result in the potential for poor audio quality.
