Finisar GTX-Generator Series 2Gb Fibre Channel Traffic Generator Simple Type: Signal Source Finisar’s GTX-G Generator is a powerful test tool that enables the user to generate data to test Fibre Channel networks. The Generator works in conjunction with Finisar’s GTX Traffic Analyzers to allow users to generate and view detailed network responses. GTX-G allows users to send frames via point-to-point or fabric connections. The Generator will perform login, negotiate credit management and generate valid or invalid traffic, at full line-rate. The receiver side detects and counts frame errors while checking for out of order frames. GTX-G was designed from the outset to be flexible, while providing designers with the high speed necessary for today’s 2Gbps environments. GTX-G remains compatible with Finisar legacy GT-G 1Gbps Generators. This provides testers the familiarity they like with the added performance they need. The GTX-G has been designed so that anyone can create or edit a configuration file without accessing generator hardware, and then export it. Scripting via Finisar’s Frunner scripting tool allows the user to automate configurations created using the GUI. Scripting allows users to perform back-to-back testing. Download the datasheet (PDF)
