Excalibur Systems Ox M4KCAN2 CPU Board - 2 independent channels of CAN 2.0B protocol with standard and extended message frames and Message Identifiers. Simple Type: CPU Board The M4KCAN is an intelligent serial communications interface module for the multimode, multiprotocol Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards. The M4KCAN provides a complete solution for developing and testing CAN interfaces and performing system simulation of the CAN bus. It is a highly integrated module that performs serial communication according to the CAN protocol. Each module of the M4KCAN contains up to 6 channels each containing 256 bytes of dual-port RAM for Data Blocks and control registers. All Data Blocks and control registers are memory mapped, and may be accessed in real-time. The CAN protocol uses a multi-master (contention based) bus configuration for the transfer of “communication objects” between nodes of the network. This multi-master bus is also referred to as CSMA/CR or Carrier Sense, Multiple Access, with Collision Resolution. The M4KCAN performs all serial communication functions suchas transmission and reception of messages, message filtering, transmit search, and interrupt search with minimal interaction from the user. All Data Blocks and Control registers are memory mapped, and may be accessed in real-time. The M4K1553Px module can be programmed to operate in one of three modes of operation: Remote Terminal, Bus Controller/Concurrent-RT, and Bus Monitor. Excalibur Systems EXC-1394PCIe-x CPU Board - IEEE 1394B interface for PCI Express compatible systems Simple Type: CPU Board The EXC-1394PCIe is an intelligent, multichannel avionics communication board for interfacing to an AS5643 or an IEEE-1394 data bus. It implements a 1394b PHY layer and can operate at 100, 200 or 400 Mbps. It provides up to three fully independent nodes, each node having three full-duplex ports associated with it, and has a universal PCI Express interface that is compatible with any PCI Express slot. The EXC-1394PCIe supports Direct Memory Access (DMA), which enables the board to access system memory for reading and writing independently of the computer’s CPU.
