Excalibur Systems Kx M4KSerial4 CPU Board - RS-232/422/485 interface module - 1Mbps - Supports 4 channels. Simple Type: CPU Board The M4KSerial is a serial interface module for the multiprotocol Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards. This module supports up to four independent channels of serial communications, each of which can be selected as RS-485, RS-422 or RS-232. The module operates independently of the host computer, reducing the need for host intervention. The M4KSerial module is based on the Exar XR16L651 Universal Asynchronous Receiver/ Transmitter (UART). The device is compatible to industry standard 16C450, 16C550, ST16C580 and ST16C650A UARTs.Each of the M4KSerial’s four channels contains a transmit FIFO capable of holding up to 8000 bytes and a receive FIFO capable of holding either 16000 input bytes or 3200 bytes with a 32-bit Time Tag associated with each byte. These large buffers allow application code to transfer large quantities of data with a single non-blocking subroutine call. The 32-bit Time Tag on receive channels is very useful for synchronizing serial data with data from other modules on the 4000 board or on other interface boards. Each channel has a programmable baud rate of up to 2 Mbps and can be configured as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. Download the datasheet (PDF)

(RT Validated-Single Function) Simple Type: CPU Board The M4K1553Px is an intelligent, MIL-STD-1553 interface module for the multiprotocol Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards. The M4K1553Px provides a complete solution for developing and testing 1553 interfaces and performing system simulation of the MIL-STD-1553 bus. The module handles all standard variations of the MIL-STD-1553 protocol. Each module of the M4K1553Px contains 64K bytes of dual-port RAM for Data Blocks, Control registers, and Look-up Tables. All Data Blocks and Control registers are memory mapped, and may be accessed in real-time. The M4K1553Px module can be programmed to operate in one of three modes of operation: Remote Terminal, Bus Controller/Concurrent-RT, and Bus Monitor. Excalibur Systems EXC-1394PCIe-x CPU Board - IEEE 1394B interface for PCI Express compatible systems Simple Type: CPU Board The EXC-1394PCIe is an intelligent, multichannel avionics communication board for interfacing to an AS5643 or an IEEE-1394 data bus. It implements a 1394b PHY layer and can operate at 100, 200 or 400 Mbps. It provides up to three fully independent nodes, each node having three full-duplex ports associated with it, and has a universal PCI Express interface that is compatible with any PCI Express slot. The EXC-1394PCIe supports Direct Memory Access (DMA), which enables the board to access system memory for reading and writing independently of the computer’s CPU.
