Description

American Trends MegaRAC G4 Control Board - High performance 30+ frames per second, No power adapter required (uses PCI-standby voltage), Supports IMPI 2.0 and SMASH/CLP Simple Type: Control Board AMI’s MegaRAC G4 is the newest generation within AMI’s remote management controller family. MegaRAC G4 is a low cost, half-height or full height PCI-card that can be installed onto regular server platforms or into blade servers. It has connections for USB, Ethernet and an external wall-adapter. The card can connect to an IPMI BMC and to reset/power controls. MegaRAC G4 implements KVM over LAN, enabling total control of system resources from a remote location, including Keyboard, Video & Mouse for full graphics and text redirection. The card displays the image it receives through the VGA connector in a web-browser on a remote PC. Mouse and keyboard activity is provided to the motherboard’s web-browser through USB. MegaRAC G4 features AMI’s unique, patent-pending AAVICA-II compression engine, featureing video capture of up to 1280 x 1024. The technology uses intelligent algorithms to significantly reduce network traffic and provide high-performance graphical redirection. The engine interfaces with the server’s DVO video interface and USB bus. Download the datasheet (PDF)

American Trends MG9087 Chipsets - is a low-cost, ultra-small, single-chip solution for use on SAS and SATA Backplanes for up to 8 drives per backplane. Simple Type: Chipset The MegaRAC MG9087 helps optimize backplane layout with the latest enclosure management technologies. Highly integrated and space-optimized, the chip features integrated internal oscillator and temp sensor; measures only 9 x 9 mm, and does not require the usual plethora of components that drive backplane costs upward: external crystal, flash memory, Power-On Reset (POR) chip, temperature sensor, regulator, EEPROM, LED Driver, FRU, and transceivers. This may bring significant savings, depending on the design and configuration of your project. In addition, reducing the number of components on the backplane makes for simpler and cleaner designs, which improves time to market (TTM). Developers can further improve TTM by utilizing AMI’s 971/972 development boards. The MG9087 enclosure management controller manages LED patterns for up to eight SAS/SATA drives, providing drive activity, Fail/Rebuild and Locate signals. It supports SGPIO and IPMI over SMBUS, with support for SES2 over SMBUS. MG9087 can be utilized in a multitude of designs, managing LEDs for systems that feature a number of drives that varies from six to thirty-two. As many as 16 configurations are already available from AMI. AMI offers a variety of hardware and software tools for firmware upgrade and configuration via IPMI or USB. A convenient USB2.0 utility provides status monitoring, diagnostics and firmware upgrade independent of the system BMC controller. Download the datasheet (PDF)

American Trends MG9085 Chipsets - is a low-cost, ultra-small, single-chip Solution with USB support for use on SAS and SATA Backplanes for up to 4 drives per backplane. Simple Type: Chipset The MegaRAC MG9085 controller helps optimize backplane layout with the latest enclosure management technologies. Developers can further improve TTM by utilizing AMI’s 966 development board. The MG9085 enclosure management controller manages LED patterns for up to six SAS/SATA drives, providing drive activity, Fail/Rebuild and Locate signals. The chip can directly drive 2 LEDs for up to 6 slots or 3 LEDs for up to 4 slots; it determines the number of drives by sensing the connections on the Mx-bus. The MG9085 supports SGPIO and SES-2 over SMBUS. MG9085 can be utilized in a variety of designs. Various reference designs are already available from AMI. AMI offers a variety of hardware and software tools for firmware upgrade and configuration via IPMI or USB.
